9:01 p.m. - I've heard people say Rushel Shell isn't that fast. Insane.

8:58 p.m. - Root Sports Rob King is complaining so much in breaks about his back because he PLAYED BASKETBALL TODAY. What a sissy.

8:05 p.m. - Franklin Regional gets first down on QB sneak.

Covering game next to Craig Wolfley. Priceless.

7:59 p.m. - There he goes. Rushel Shell 64-yard TD run, shot out of a jet. Now has 97 yards. Officials might have made a horrible call. They called excessive celebration, I believe, on Shell after TD because he dove into end zone. But he dove into end zone, I think, to avoid being tackled. If the call was on Shell, very questionable.

7:34 p.m. - Three and out for Franklin Regional.

7:32 p.m. - We are underway. Looked this up today. Only second time in 30 years top two rushers in regular season have met in playoff game - Rushel Shell and Dane Brown.

Dang. They had to open the press box window right in front of me for "Wolf" and Rob King. Fingers might get a little cold for typing. Oh well.

Bryan Deal, who retired from coaching Fox Chapel after last season, working the press box for Fox Chapel. Former Pitt assistant and always a good guy to talk to. He's now coaching Fox Chapel golf team. Yes, quite a change from football, but he says he loves it. Says he doesn't miss the coaching all that much, except Fridays, especially Friday afternoons. Golf coach makes sense for Bryan. I golfed with him once. He got game.

Hopewell's Rushel Shell can set a national record for consecutive 100-yard games. He is tied for first right now with 38.

Root Sports televising the game. It will be on tape following Penguin game. I'm sitting next to Rob King and color commentator Craig Wolfley. Should be interesting, next to all the "Wolf-isms." Ha ha. Hope Wolf doesn't get too hungry up here and eat my computer.

After a check with Hopewell's ace statistician, Tony Ciucci, we were 1 yard off on Rushel Shell's career total. He needs 241 yards tonight to tie the state rushing record, and 242 to tie. We mistakenly had him needing 240 to tie.

I am still having trouble picking a winner in this game.
