Blackhawk 17, Moon 7 - From Ricci Rich

Woodland Hills 14, North Hills 3 - From White Boy No. 3

8:04 p.m. - HALFTIME: MONTOUR 12, HOPEWELL 3

First off, for a big game and close to a packed stadium, Hopewell side of field is pretty much dead.

STATS: Rushel Shell has 62 yards on 13 carries. Penalites have hurt Hopewell, twice affecting drives in Montour territory. 36 yards on five penalties.

Montour's Julian Durden impressive. 140 yards on eight carries. Dillon Buechel completed first nine passes for Montour. Finished 9 of 11 for 50 yards.

8:02 p.m. - Good one at Mt. Lebanon. End of first quarter, Mt. Lebanon 9, Penn-Trafford 6. Manny Simpson has 117 yards rushing already for Penn-Trafford.

8:01 p.m. - From Silky Senchack: WOODLAND HILLS 14, NORTH HILLS 0 - Says North Hills looks bad. Blocked punt for TD for Woodland Hills and also a long run.

7:56 p.m. - MONTOUR 12, HOPEWELL 3 -- Montour goes 50 yards in six plays for TD. Great call on third-and-goal at the 5. End around to Darren Massey who gets into end zone with 29 ticks left in half. Two-point run failed.

7:53 p.m. - Hopewell went three and out. Montour on move again. Timeout with 46.5 seconds left in half. Julian Durden just ran 38 yards to the Hopewell 5. He has 140 yards on eight carries. Quite impressive. Nice burst with first few steps.

7:45 p.m. - Montour goes ahead, 6-3. QB Dillon Buechel has been superb. Now 9 of 9 for 50 yards. Throws 10-yard TD pass to Darren Massey. 93-yard TD drive.

7:41 p.m. - Mt. Lebanon's Dmitri Orfanopoulos returns opening kickoff 90 yards. Lebo leads Penn-Trafford, 6-0.

7:39 p.m. - Montour's Julian Durden just broke one for 66 yards to the Hopewell 27. He has an offer from Pitt.

7:37 p.m. - Hopewell three and out. Hopewell splits Shell out at receiver much more this season.

And Shell also is Hopewell's punter.

7:36 p.m. - Three and out again for Montour. Spartans fine offense struggling after looking so good on first possession that ended in a turnover.

7:32 p.m. - On fourth and 6, Harmotto sacked by Montour's Chase Dwyer. Turns ball over. Montour ball at 20 with 9:24 left in half.

7:27 p.m. - Shell just had a ridiculous 18-yard TD run called back holding. Must have broken 5-6 tackles. Was hit behind line, still broke free.

7:26 p.m. - Shell just went 29 yards on first play of second quarter. Hopewell now on Montour 23.

7:24 p.m. - END OF FIRST QUARTER: HOPEWELL 3, MONTOUR 0

Hopewell ball first down on own 48. Rushel Shell 23 yards on 7 carries after first quarter. Hasn't had much room to run. But starting to get in gear - maybe. 3, 6, 5 yards on past three carries. Just showed some toughness, putting head down and running over few defenders to pick up a first down on third-and-one.

7:21 p.m. - Montour three-and-out. Hopewell ball at 34.

7:17 p.m. - Hopewell has a 13-play drive that ends in Nate Bowden's 37-yard field goal with 3:52 left in first quarter. 3-0 Hopewell. Rushel Shell has 9 yards on four carries.

7:13 p.m. - Hopewell driving. At Montour 12. Couple big plays by QB Nolan Harmotto

7:11 p.m. - Just about a packed house here.

7:09 p.m. - Third and nine, Hopewell has to take timeout. Only 10 players on field. Someone kind of messed up. Might have been Adam Murray. Wasn't on field.

7:08 p.m. - First two carries Rushel Shell only 4 yards.

7:06 p.m. - Bad snap. Turnover. Hopewell recovers. Hopewell first at 33. Early in first.

7:04 p.m. - Montour blowing right through Hopewell defense on first possession. Started at 36. Now at Hopewell 17. Tough luck for Montour, though. Standout lineman Dom Martinelli looks to have left knee injury. But he jogged off field.

7:01 p.m. - I like Montour by two TDs. Key to the game: How Hopewell's OLine plays.

6:56 p.m. - Nice touch by Hopewell, with anniversary of 9-11 only two days away. When Vikings came out of the locker room onto field, they were led out by senior lineman Gino Sabatini, who carried an American flag.

6:51 p.m. -Hmmm. What's more popular? A Hines Ward jersey or a Rushel Shell jersey?

6:20 p.m. - Kickoff 40 minutes away. Put away a "wedge" at Pizza Joe's and ready to go. A little threat of rain, though, as you can when Montour took the field.
