Shell likes Ohio State; Caputo will announce next week

A couple of notes on the recruiting front.

Hopewell's Rushel Shell, one of the top junior running backs in the country, said he isn't close to making a college decision. He has numerous scholarship offers already, including ones from Pitt, Penn State, Alabama, Florida and Ohio State, among others.

But Shell did say Ohio State was his favorite at the moment. But please don't read too much into this. There is a long way to go in his recruitment.

"Ohio State is my top school right now, but everyone has a chance. They're all pretty much even," Shell said.

Shell plans to attend a Pitt practice next week and meet with some of the coaches.

Caputo to announce

West Allegheny's Mike Caputo will most likely announce his college decision Tuesday. Although Caputo (running back-defensive back) has said Pitt, Penn State, Wisconsin and Ohio State are his final four, it looks like Wisconsin and Ohio State are his top two.
