A fourth basketball player from the WPIAL class of 2010 has committed to a Division I college.

Mt. Lebanon guard Evan Pierce, who will be a senior in the fall, made a verbal commitment today to Wagner College. Wagner is in Staten Island, N.Y., and plays in the Northeast Conference (Rober Morris also is a member).

Pierce averaged 17 points a game last season for a Mt. Lebanon team that made it to the WPIAL Class AAAA championship game and the PIAA semifinals. He chose Wagner over Iona and Air Force.

Pierce moved to Mt. Lebanon from Indianapolis a few years ago.

The other three WPIAL basketball players from the class of 2010 who have made verbal commitments to Division I colleges are Chartiers Valley guard T.J. McConnell (Duquesne), Sewickley Academy's Tom Droney (Davidson) and Hempfield's Nate Perry (Appalachian State).
