Koyack the javelin thrower
Oil City's Ben Koyack is considered one of the top football players in the state for next season, and the junior tight end already has made a verbal commitment to Notre Dame. On Saturday, Koyack won the state Class AA javelin championship.
Thorpe to Shaler?
Numerous sources say Geno Thorpe will be at Shaler for next school year. Thorpe was a talented freshman football and basketball player at Shady Side Academy as a freshman. He averaged 15 points in basketball. But he is apparently headed back to Shaler, where he lives. Thorpe attended Shaler schools through eighth grade.
If Thorpe leaves for Shaler, wonder what will happen to Michael Young, a 6-foot-7 freshman who also started in basketball? Young came to Shady Side only this year.
