Penn State held its annual media day today in University Park, and Coach Joe Paterno offered several updates regarding the Nittany Lions' preseason practice:

Three suspended players -- linebacker Navorro Bowman, defensive back Knowledge Timmons and tight end Andrew Quarless -- have been cleared to rejoin the team. "Timmons and Bowman right now have been practicing with us β as is Quarless β but he knows he has to get a certain grade," Paterno said.
Starting cornerback A.J. Wallace missed practice with a hamstring pull.

Backup guard Josh Marks is no longer with the team and offensive tackle Nerraw McCormack is not practicing. "Heβs just not in the kind of physical condition I think he ought to be," Paterno said.

Paterno has awarded former walk-on receiver Graham Zug has been awarded a scholarship and Derek Moye, a redshirt freshman wide receiver from Rochester High School, is running with the second unit. He is one of the fastest players on the team.

Paterno said its too early to name a starting quarterback. However, Daryll Clark is expected to get the nod over Pat Devlin.
