The Pitt men's basketball team starts the season at No. 5 in the Associated Press preseason rankings. That's not news to anyone who follows college basketball with any regularity. The Panthers have been among the most consistent teams in the nation the past several years and return three starters from a team that went 27-10 and advnaced to the second round of the NCAA tournament.
But at least one person is unimpressed with the Panthers. Roger Clarkson of the Athens Banner Herald in Athens, Ga ranked Pitt No. 23 on his ballot. Amazingly, 12 other voters did not rank Pitt in their top 10.
Here's a link to pollspeak.com, a web site devoted to scrutinizing the voting process of pollsters in college football and college basketball. It's quite an interesting site.
