GAMEDAY: Pitt vs. Connecticut
For the final time as a member of the Big East, Pitt will play on a Friday night regular season game tonight. The Panthers take on Connecticut at 8 p.m. on ESPN2, so should be just around when the basketball season-opener ends. Just a couple of notes for tonight...
- No real injury news tonight. Linebacker Emanuel Rackard didn't make the trip after suffering a leg injury last week. If for whatever reason Pitt needs to replace Eric Williams at the 'Sam' linebacker spot tonight, I'd expect Todd Thomas to shift back over to his original position. No word on the extent of Shane Gordon's availability. He's here, and Pitt coach Paul Chryst said he could possibly start, but I wouldn't necessarily expect it.
