Sights and Sounds from Fan Fest
Hey everyone, Pitt's 2012 Fan Fest just wrapped up. Honestly, there's not a whole lot to report, but I've got some pictures and even a special video from the event, which took place at the river end of Heinz Field. Mostly, it was just players signing autographs and interacting with fans. 93.7 was broadcasting live and they had some highlights going on the jumbotron. All in all, it was a good time. Nice to hear the band play and actually feel like college football is in the air.
And now, finally, let's hear from Ray Graham and the Pitt marching band...
That's all from Fan Fest, folks. And now, I'm afraid I must leave you on a bit of a downer. I know we just had a farewell (for now) post on this blog, but it's time for another (don't worry, it's not as long). I've had some long-standing vacation plans for next week that were made (and paid for) well before I transitioned to the Pitt football beat. My bosses have been kind enough to let me keep these plans, so I will be off the grid, so to speak, for the next 10 days. Until then, I'll leave you in the more-than-capable hands of Ray Fittipaldo, who many of you know from his outstanding Pitt basketball coverage. He'll be covering the team for the upcoming week, as well as the opener against Youngstown State. I'll be back Tuesday, Sept. 4 and be back ready to go for the Cincinnati game. You can follow Ray on Twitter @RayFitt1. Since I won't be here when it officially happens, I'd like to take this opportunity to officially welcome everybody to the 2012 college football season.
