A third interview - Friday afternoon
A source has told me about a third interview so the timetable is starting to make sense:
Mario Cristobal is interviewing with Pitt today. He is a very strong candidate for a number of reasons and here is one I never even thought about - he has recruiting ties in the Southeast, which is where Pitt's next conference is centered.
So we now have three interviews confirmed - Luke Fickell Thursday, Paul Chryst Saturday.
Also, in case you missed it - Paul Rhoads has signed a 10-year contract extension.
According to Brett McMurphy from CBS it $2 million a year - which is a pay raise of about $800,000 for Rhoads. Like I wrote earlier - and this tells me I had a good source around Rhoads - he would listen to Pitt but was likely to stay at Iowa State because he still feels like he has a lot to accomplish.
And here is what Chad Voytik - one of the most important recruits in this upcoming class - tweeted this morning about Todd Graham and the idea of him following Graham to Voytik....
@Voytik_8 - "Todd Graham can take Penni to ASU, but he can't take my teammates or my future with him too. Coach, you will regret this. #justwaitandsee"
