A fifth straight WVU opponent wins Big 12 offensive player of the week
This morning the Big 12 Conference awarded Oklahoma QB Landry Jones the honor of being named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week.
Jones threw six touchdowns, and a school record 554 passing yards as he led the Sooners to a 50-49 win over West Virginia on Saturday.
And…that marks the fifth straight game that a West Virginia opponent has been given the Big 12’s offensive weekly award after the game.

Landry Jones led Oklahoma to a 50-49 comeback victory at West Virginia with a school-record 554 passing yards. He held the previous record of 505 set against Kansas State (10/29/11). The senior's six touchdown passes tied a school record he set against Tulsa (9/19/09). Jones threw the game-winning touchdown to WR Kenny Stills on fourth down with 0:24 remaining. He is now fifth in NCAA history and second in Big 12 annals in career total offense with 15,262 yards. Jones has 117 passing touchdowns for sixth all-time in the NCAA and second in the Big 12. He has thrown for 3,245 yards this season, becoming just the third QB in FBS history with 3,000 passing yards in four different seasons, joining Killen Moore (Boise State) and Timmy Chang (Hawaii).
