Garrison's knee: One player says we're making too much of it
The coaching staff has not come out and said definitively whether or not Dustin Garrison will play on Saturday.
A lot of indicators point to it being unlikely he plays against Marshall or plays at all for a few weeks. Read Wednesday’s story here.
But one player - whose nickname happens to be "The Boss" - says we’re all making way too much of this knee thing.
Who? Shawne Alston, the team's top running back who spends an awful lot of time with Garrison.
“Everytime I walk into the training room he’s in there taking care of his knee. The biggest thing is actually going to treatment every day, when you know you get a little annoyed with it,” said Alston. “I been watching him at practice, watching him run around. We workout in the weight room together. I don’t think his knee is going to be as big a problem as everyone thinks it will be.”
Alston led the team with 12 rushing touchdowns last year, ranked No. 2 in the Big East in scoring touchdowns, and scored the winning TD in two of the team's last three games.
Who can forget that incredible performance in the snow at Rutgers?
