Big East suit continued this morning

Written by Jenn Menendez on .

The Big East lawsuit was continued this morning in a status conference between the two parties with Judge Michael Silverstein, a court spokesman said this morning.

All that means is there is nothing immediate to report.

Things could certainly change by this afternoon, but as of this current moment it stands that a settlement was not reached on this morning’s conference call.

That doesn’t mean it is still not “close” as was reported yesterday. Today was simply the absolute earliest it was going to get resolved.

Craig Berke, the Rhode Island Superior court Asst. State Court Commissioner basically said the matter is continued, and is technically headed toward trial still but Judge Silverstein is open to news of a settlement if that happens in the interim.

Berke: "Judge Silverstein is certainly open to news of a settlement if that happens in the interim."

It is also interesting, if nothing else, to note that no date was set for the next status conference.
