Mike Smith to WVU staff?

UPDATE: It is being reported by the New York Jets media now that outside linebackers coach Mike Smith will be heading to West Virginia to join Dana Holgorsen's staff. Pretty solid stuff.

New York Daily News Jets beatwriter - Manish Mehta - just tweeted the following: "Mike Smith will be doing more than simply working w/LBs @ West Virginia.I'm told he'll essentially have co-coordinator responsibilities."

Mehta wrote the below article linking Smith to Welker.

Earlier: CBS’s Bruce Feldman just tweeted: “Jets LB coach Mike Smith will be hired at West Virginia as LB coach. Smith played at Texas Tech while Dana was there.”

One source just confirmed to the PG that his name has certainly been in the mix to complete Dana Holgorsen’s staff. This source did not cofirm the hire, but it seems at least to have some legs.

Check out this story linking Mike Smith to Wes Welker at Texas Tech. And we all know Holgorsen coached Welker there. Certainly adds up.
