Orange Bowl week begins
Let Orange Bowl week begin.
West Virginia is scheduled to land in Miami later today and hold a press conference at the airport around 2:30 p.m.
They will stay at the Fontainebleau in Miami Beach, and will practice at Barry University. Clemson arrived two days ago and are staying at the Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa, in Hollywood.
Lots of great storylines in this matchup that we’ll be getting to over the course of the next seven days.
- There’s the fact QB Geno Smith and his go-to WR Stedman Bailey went to high school in these parts, at nearby Miramar High School.
- There is also of course the Tajh Boyd factor - Clemson’s QB originally committed to WVU before going to Clemson, which opened the door for Smith.
- And when it comes to game time: We’re talking about two teams that can gain yards and put up points. WVU’s offense sputtered down the stretch, but are ranked No. 17 in total offense with 459 yards a game. Clemson is ranked No. 28 in total offense with 440 yards and change a game.
