Penguins
-Negotiations between the NHL and NHLPA are scheduled to resume Monday.
-Penguins season ticket holders aren't happy.
-Brad Thiessen made 17 saves for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 4-1 loss to the rival Hershey Bears.
-Patrick Killeen made 17 saves for the Wheeling Nailers in a 6-1 loss to the Toledo Walleye.
-Happy 58th birthday to former Penguins defenseman Tom Edur (right). Acquired midway through the 1977-78 season in a deal which sent Dennis Owchar to the Colorado Rockies, Edur's Penguins career amounted to a pretty productive 58 games and 43 points during that campaign. In the 1978 offseason, he retired at the age of 23 to devote himself to religion having become a Jehovah's Witness.-Happy 31st birthday to former Penguins forward Chris Minard. A free agent signing in the 2007 offseason, Minard spent parts of two seasons with the Penguins. As a rookie in 2007-08, Mindard saw action in 15 games and scored two points. He followed that up in 2008-09 by playing in 20 games and recording three points. In the 2009 offseason, Minard joined the Oilers as a free agent. He is currently a member of Kölner Haie in Germany's DEL.
Atlantic Division
-According to the Philadelphia Daily News, Flyers owner Ed Snider, one of the more powerful owners in the NHL, has soured on NHL commissioner Gary Bettman's approach to the lockout.
-The Flyers issued a statement calling the Daily News' report as "unequivocally false."
-Flyers forward Claude Giroux (right), currently playing for Eisbaren Berlin of Germany's DEL, suffered what he described a "little neck injury" which required him to be briefly hospitalized.
Northeast Division
-Senators defenseman Jared Cowen will be sidelined six to eight months following hip surgery.
Central Division
-Blue Jackets defensman Ryan Murray, the No. 2 overall pick in this summer's draft, suffered a shoulder injury while playing for his junior team, the WHL's Everett Silvertips. The severity of the injury is not yet known.
Pacific Division
-Ducks forward Andrew Cogliano has joined Klagenfurter AC of Austria's EBEL.
Adams Division
-Shootout goals by J.P. Labardo and Stephen Harper gave the Erie Otters a 3-2 win against the Guelph Storm.
-Terry Shafer made 28 saves for the Robert Morris men's team in a 3-0 loss to Niagara.
-Jordan Tibbett made 25 saves for the Mercyhurst men's team which lost to Rensselaer, 4-1.
-Kristen DiCiocco made 19 saves for the Robert Morris women's team in a 1-1 tie with RIT.
-Shannon Yoxheimer recorded two assists for the Penn State women's team which edged Lindenwood, 3-2.
-Stephanie Ciampa made 18 saves for the Mercyhurst women's team which shutout Yale, 4-0.
