Penguins

-Happy 47th birthday to former Penguins goaltender Steve Guenette. A free agent signing late in the 1984-85 season, Guenette spent parts of three seasons with the Penguins. As a rookie in 1986-87, Guenette appeared in two games, went 0-2-0, had a 4.25 goals against average, and a .852 save percentage. In 1987-88, he played in a career high 19 games, went 12-7-0 and had a 3.35 goals against average as well as an. .895 save percentage and one shutout. After seeing action in 11 games, going 5-6-0 with a 4.29 goals against average and an .867 goals against average, Guenette was traded to the Flames for a draft pick. In 32 career games with the Penguins, Guenette had a 17-15-0 record, a 3.71 goals against average, an .883 save percentage and one shutout.

Atlantic Division

-Senators defenseman Jared Cowen underwent surgery for an undisclosed "lower-body" injury.

-Maple Leafs defenseman Carl Gunnarsson has joined Örebro of Sweden's Allsvenskan.

-“We’re lucky that he’s alive." - Danny Geoffrion on his son, Canadiens forward Blake Geoffrion. Currently assigned to Hamilton of the AHL, Blake Geoffrion suffered a fractured skull Friday.

Southeast Division

-Could the lockout bring an end to forward Stephen Weiss' time with the Panthers?

-Jets goaltender Ondrej Pavelec has left the Liberec Tigers of the Czech Extraliga.

Central Division

-Predators forward Patric Hornqvist (right) has joined Djurgården of Sweden's Allsvenskan.

Northwest Division

-Flames forward Roman Cervenka has joined HC Lev Praha of Russia's KHL.

Pacific Division

-"He's got his own agenda. He's saying stuff so people watch. I understand that. I don't have to like it or agree with it, but he's trying to get viewers like you're trying to get people to read the paper." - Patrick Marleau on former teammate Jeremy Roenick. In his new book, Roenick criticized Marleau for not playing with heart.

Adams Division

-Former Canucks/Panthers/Rangers forward Pavel Bure, Red Wings/Blues/Bruins/Capitals/Flyers/Mighty Ducks/Oilers forward Adam Oates, Nordiques/Avalanche forward Joe Sakic and Nordiques/Maple Leafs/Canucks forward Joe Sakic were inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame last night.

-Sabres broadcaster Rick Jeanneret received the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award for broadcasting last night and was also inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.

-Globe and Mail columnist Roy MacGregor received the Elmer Ferguson Memorial Award for print media and was also inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame.

-Former Blue Jackets/Senators goaltender Pascal Leclaire announced his retirement due to hip injuries. Leclaire, 30, was the No. 8 overall pick  in the 2001 draft by Columbus.
