Penguins
-The NHL and NHLPA made some progress in negotiations.
-Strength and conditioning coach Mike Kadar is a celebrity in Hungary.
-A natural hat trick by Paul Thompson led the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to a 5-3 win against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Brian Gibbons added a goal and an assist for the Penguins while teammate Brian Dumoulin recorded two assists. Jeff Zatkoff made 37 saves in the victory. The Penguins' next game is at home against the Binghamton Senators, Wednesday, 7:05 p.m.
-The Penguins' penalty kill has snuffed out 28 consecutive power plays.
-A look at Zatkoff's lid design:

-The AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs recalled defenseman Joe Stejskal from the Nailers.
-Dustin Jeffrey recorded an assist for Medvescak Zagreb which edged the Graz 99ers, 6-5 in Austria's EBEL.
-Deryk Engelland netted an assist for Rosenborg which fell to the Stavanger Oilers, 4-1, in Norway's GET Ligaen.
-The KHL is entering a break in its schedule. Evgeni Malkin's Metallurg Magnitogorsk franchise will not play again until Nov. 14 when it faces Avangard Omsk.
-Happy 25th birthday to current Penguins defensive prospect Carl Sneep (right). A second-round pick in 2006, Sneep's NHL career with the Penguins has amounted to one assist in one game last season. He is currently on the Wheeling Nailers' roster.

-"I've come to an agreement with myself to not pay attention to it." - Flyers forward Zac Rinaldo on the lockout.
Adams Division
-Devin Williams made 48 saves for the Erie Otters in a 4-1 loss to the Mississauga Steelheads.
-An overtime goal by Anneline Lauziere gave the Robert Morris women's team a 3-2 win against Vermont.
-Connor Wright had two goals an an assist for the Johnstown Tomahawks in a 6-4 loss to the Springfield Blues.
