-The NHL and NHLPA are scheduled to resume negotiations this weekend.

-Happy 67th birthday to former Penguins defenseman John Arbour. Acquired along with Jean Pronovost during the 1968 offseason in a deal which sent cash to Boston, Arbour's Penguins career amounted to 17 games and two assists in 1968-69. In the 1969 offseason, Arbour was traded to Vancouver of the WHL along with Paul Andrea and Andy Bathgate in exchange for Bryan Hextall, Jr.
Atlantic Division
-Islanders forward John Tavares has joined Bern of Switzerland's NLA for the duration of the lockout.
-Flyers forward and former Penguin Maxime Talbot (right) has organized a barnstorming tour of sorts for NHL players who will play exhibition games throughout Quebec.
Southeast Division
-Capitals forward Brooks Laich will play for the Kloten Flyers of Switzerland's NLA for the duration of the lockout.
Central Division
-John Davidson has left his position as president of the Blues.
Northwest Division
-Authorities in Canada arrested Jonathan Stephen Mahoney and charged him with various crimes related to the riots in Vancouver following the 2011 Stanley Cup Final. Mahoney, who was arrested in Saskatchewan, was identied as the Vancouver Police's "most elusive" suspect.
Pacific Division
-Former Mercyhurst goaltender Ryan Zapolski has joined the Idaho Steelheads, the Stars' ECHL affiliate.
Adams Division

-Panthers goaltender Dmitry Kulikov and Avalanche goaltender Semyon Varlamov have joined Lokomotiv Yaroslavl of Russia's KHL for the duration of the lockout.
-Former Red Wings forward/Coyotes coach Bob Francis has fallen on hard times.
