-Happy 48th birthday to former Penguins defenseman Norm Maciver (right). Acquired at the 1995 trade deadline along with Troy Murray in a deal which sent Martin Straka to the Senators, Maciver spent parts of two seasons with the Penguins. He finished 1994-95 by appearing in 13 games for the Penguins and recording nine assists. That spring, he played in 12 postseason games and scored five points. After 32 games and 23 points in 1995-96, Maciver was dealt midseason to the Winnipeg Jets in exchange for Neil Wilkinson. It was the last trade between the two franchises before the Jets relocated to Phoenix in the summer of 1996. In 45 games for the Penguins, Maciver recorded 32 points. He is currently the director of player development for the Blackhawks.
