Kings rout Devils, win first Stanley Cup title - 06-11-12

For the first time in the 45-year history, the Kings are Stanley Cup champions.
A goal and two assists by captain Dustin Brown led the Kings to a 6-1 rout of the Devils in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
The victory capped an unprecedented run for the Kings who were the eighth seed in the Western Conference. Los Angeles which eliminated the the top three seeds in the Western Conference, jumped out to 3-0 leads in all four of its postseason series. Along the way, the Kings knocked off the Presidents' Trophy champion Canucks in the quarterfinal round, the Central Division champion Blues in the semifinal round and the Pacific Division champion Coyotes in the conference final.
