-Happy 39th birthday to former Penguins forward Andreas Johansson (right). Acquired early in the 1996-97 season along with Darius Kasparaitis in a deal which sent Bryan Smolinski to the Islanders, Johansson spent parts of two seasons with the Penguins. In 27 games that season, Johansson recorded nine points. In 1997-98, Johansson appeared in 50 games and recorded 15 points. The 1998 offseason saw him sign as a free agent with the Senators.

-Happy 51st birthday to former Penguins forward Wayne Van Dorp. Acquired early in the 1987-88 season along with Paul Coffey and Dave Hunter in exchange for for Craig Simpson, Dave Hannan, Moe Mantha and Chris Joseph, Van Dorp's Penguins career amounted to 25 games and four points with the club that campaign. In the 1988 offseason, he was traded to the Sabres for future considerations.

Playoff Stuff
Rangers - Devils

-Rangers forward Brandon Dubinsky resumed practicing for the first time since suffering a an ankle injury April 26.

-Devils defenseman Henrik Tallinder practiced for the first time since Jan. 17. He has been sidelined due to a blood clot in his leg.

-New Jersey forward Jacob Josefson also practiced. He has been sidelined since April 3 due to a broken wrist.

-After going two years without a goal, Devils defenseman Bryce Salvador (right) has collected eight points (two goals, six assists) in 14 postseason games.

-Former NHL all-star J.P. Parise, the father of Devils captain Zach Parise, created some waves yesterday when he casually suggested his son could sign with the Rangers in the offseason.

Kings - Coyotes

-Coyotes coach and former Penguins forward Dave Tippett backed off his suggestion that the Kings were embellishing penalties.

-"There's a lot of pride on the line, and we don't want to get swept. We don't want to lose, and we're going to fight to the end." - Coyotes forward Kyle Chipchura on being down 3-0 in the series.

Non-Playoff Stuff
Central Division

-The Blue Jackets signed defenseman Austin Madaisky, fifth-round pick in 2010, to a three-year entry-level contract.

-“I think the management was too tough on Alexander [Radulov] and Andrei [Kostitsyn]. The punishment for the incident could have been a monetary fine, [they] went too far with the disqualification in the midst of an important stage of the playoffs." - Predators forward Sergei Kostitsyn on team management suspending his teammates for Games 3 and 4 in their quarterfinal series against the Coyotes.

Northwest Division

-The Avalanche re-signed captain Milan Hejduk (right) to a one-year contract worth $2 million. In 81 games last season, Hejduk had 37 points (14 goals, 23 assists).

-EN Says: This is excellent news if you're a hockey fan. Hejduk, 36, is a great ambassador for his team and his sport. The fact that he's going to hold off retirement for another season is wonderful.

Smythe Division

-Former Ducks/Hurricanes/Senators/Maple Leafs/Oilers goaltender Martin Gerber has joined Rögle of Sweden's Elitserien.

-The New York Mets all wore hockey jerseys for their road trip to Toronto:
