-“Sidney Crosby needs to be in elite shape to perform at the level that he needs to perform at. I haven’t talked to him, but I don’t think he was feeling great. You can’t miss that much time in a season, even Sidney Crosby.” - Former Penguins forward Gary Roberts (right) on Crosby's performances in the postseason.

-Brad Thiessen made 34 saves for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins who lost to the St. John's IceCaps, 3-1, in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series.

-"They won every puck battle. They were skating faster. They were moving faster. They spent time in our zone. They put pucks to the net. They just outplayed us." - Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins coach John Hynes.

-The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins were one of the few teams in the AHL to suffer a dip in attendance this season.

Playoff Stuff
Rangers - Capitals

-“I’m not gonna give you much information. Some of you guys sit here and tell me I’m curt or whatever. I’m not gonna have a staring contest. If you don’t ask me questions, I’ll just leave. So that’s the way it is. I’m sorry I’m not a guy that wants to converse about everything during the playoffs. I’m not.” - Rangers coach John Tortorella (right) on how he handles the media in the postseason.

-The Rangers have lost five consecutive postseason games at the Verizon Center.

-The Capitals recalled former Penguins goaltender Dany Sabourin, defenseman Sean Collins and forward Cody Eakin from Hershey of the AHL.

Flyers - Devils

-Martin Brodeur made 19 saves for the Devils who defeated the Flyers, 4-1, in Game 2. Dainius Zubrus recorded two assists for New Jersey which tied the series, 1-1.

-The Flyers managed only 11 shots in the first two periods.

-"I was nervous and I’m not usually nervous at all. It was a special game for me." - Devils defenseman Adam Larsson on scoring a goal in his playoff debut.

-Flyers goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov had issues with this puck:

-Devils forward and former Penguin Petr Sykora gunned this puck down ice:

-"I think internally, without anybody even needing to say anything — we all knew we needed to be better to fill that void. And we did that." - Devils captain Zach Parise on playing without forward Ilya Kovalchuk who is dealing with what the team officially lists as a "lower-body" injury.

-"It's disappointing. Bryz is really the only one who showed up tonight." - Flyers forward Daniel Briere on Bryzgalov.

-Bryzgalov had plenty of fan support:

-According to Rich Chere of the Newark Star-Ledger, Kovalchuk's "lower-body" injury is his back.

Don't get me wrong, I'm disappointed and I understand that was my mistake. I really hope that everything's going to work out for the team. If I get a chance to play again in the future, I'll help the team win. That's about it." - Predators forward Alexander Radulov on being suspended by the team for Game 3.
