Something worthwhile about the Blues: The Blues are tied for best goals against average in the postseason at 1.60.

Something worthwhile about the Kings: The Kings are also tied for best goals against average in the postseason at 1.60.

Something useless about the Blues that is vaguely connected to the Penguins: Current Penguins goaltender Brent Johnson holds the Blues postseason record for most consecutive shutouts. He had three straight in a 2002 Western Conference quarterfinal series against the Blackhawks.

Something useless about the Kings that is vaguely connected to the Penguins: The Kings' all-time leader in postseason penalty minutes is former Penguins defenseman Marty McSorley.

Former Penguins on the Blues: Ville Siren, amateur scout.

Former Penguins on the Kings: Luc Robitaille, president - business operations; Rob Scuderi, D.

Who needs to be the difference for the Blues: Elliott. This series will come down to defense and goaltending. And the team which can limit it mistakes in the defensive zone will win.

Who needs to be the difference for the Kings: Quick. Ditto.

EN Prediction: As we said before, this will be a tight defensive series. Neither team takes a ton of chances and waits for the other to make a mistate. That said, the Blues have a slight edge offensively which gives them just enough to win. Blues 4-3.
