The NHL has decided to suspend forwards Arron Asham four games and James Neal one game for their actions in Sunday's Game 3 against the Flyers.

The explanation on Neal:

EN Says: There's no question both players deserve discipline. Their actions were dangerous. And frankly, Neal is lucky to only get a game.

Senators defenseman Matt Carkner was suspended one game a blantant mugging of Rangers forward Brian Boyle last week:

How are Asham's actions worth five games in comparison, especially when he doesn't have a history regarding discipline as is pointed out by the NHL's video?

Sadly, this is nothing new or even surprsing by the NHL. Inconsistency is this league's calling card when it comes to discipline.
