-Brad Thiessen made 28 saves for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 5-1 loss to the rival Hershey Bears.

-Cody Chupp had a goal and three assists for the Wheeling Nailers in a 7-5 win against the Reading Royals. Denver Manderson and Matt Schpeke each added a goal and an assist for Wheeling while teammate Patrick Killeen made 37 saves.

-Happy 57th birthday to former Penguins defenseman Kim Clackson. A fifth-round pick of the Penguins in 1975, Clackson spent the first four seasons of his professional career in WHA. He finally played for the Penguins spending the 1979-80 season in Pittsburgh. In 45 games, he recorded three assists. He left the Penguins in the 1980 offseason when he was transferred to the Nordiques as compensation for signing Paul Baxter.

Atlantic Division

-Henrik Lundqvist made 24 saves for the Rangers in a 3-2 victory against the Capitals. Brandon Dubinsky recorded two assists for New York.

-Head Save of the Day: Lundqvist deflected this long-range shout out of play with his lid:

-"About 50 games . . . felt like a hundred." - Rangers forward Brandon Prust on breaking a 48-game goalless drought.

-Flyers forward Jakub Voracek is day to day due to an "upper-body" injury.

-Philadelphia recalled forward Eric Wellwood from Adirondack of the AHL.

-The Devils demoted goaltender Jeff Frazee to Albany of the AHL.

Northeast Division

-The Canadiens recalled forwards Ryan White and Ian Schultz from Hamilton of the AHL.

-At what point do the Sabres become buyers or sellers at the trade deadline?

Southeast Division

-Tomas Fleischmann and Kris Versteeg each had a goal and an assist for the Panther who defeated the Islanders, 4-1. Jose Theodore made 26 saves in the victory.

-Florida's Tyson Strachan fired a rocket for his first NHL goal:

-Happy times for the Panthers. Not so much for New York's Jay Pandolfo:

-Theodore returned to the lineup after being sidelined since Jan. 20 due to a knee injury.

-The Hurricanes recalled forward Jerome Samson from Charlotte of the AHL and demoted forward Drayson Bowman to Charlotte.

-Capitals goaltender Tomas Vokoun missed yesterday's game against the Rangers due to an illness.

Central Division

-A goal and two assists by Henrik Zetterberg led the Red Wings to a 4-3 win against the Flyers. Johan Franzen added a goal and an assist for Detroit which won a record-tying 20th consecutive home game. Joey MacDonald made 26 saves in the victory. Brayden Schenn scored two goals for Philadelphia.

-Pass of the Night: Detroit's Nicklas Lidstom with a one-touch pass setting up Franzen for a goal:

-Detroit's Niklas Kronwall dropped the boom on Philadelphia's Daniel Briere:

-The Red Wings tied the NHL record set by the 1929-30 Boston Bruins and tied by the 1975-76 Flyers.

-“I've been dreaming about it, one day playing against him, and finally my dream came true, I'm playing against one of the best hockey players (ever)." - Red Wings defenseman and Czech Republic native Jakub Kindl on playing Flyers forward Jaromir Jagr.

-Jaroslav Halak made 25 saves for the Blues in a 3-0 shutout of the Sharks. Alex Pietrangelo had two goals and an assist for St. Louis which has gone 16-0-3 in its past 19 home games.

-Blues forward Andy McDonald returned to the lineup after missing 51 games due to a concussion.

-St. Louis forward Matt D'Agostini was placed on injured reserve due to a concussion.

-The Blue Jackets demoted defenseman Dalton Prout to Springfield of the AHL.

Northwest Division

-Oilers defenseman/expert questioner Andy Sutton (right) has agreed to a one-year contract extension worth between $1.5 and $1.75 million. In the final year of a contract with a cap hit of $2.125 million, Sutton has nine points in 33 games this season.

-The Wild has gone 4-8-2 since forward Pierre-Marc-Bouchard left the lineup due to a concussion.

-Minnesota is expected to recall defenseman Marco Scandella and forward Kris Foucault from Houston of the AHL.

-The Flames recalled forward Paul Byron from Abbotsford of the AHL.

Pacific Division

-A hat trick by Corey Perry led the Ducks to a 5-3 win against the Blue Jackets. Bobby Ryan added a goal and an assist for Anaheim while captain Ryan Getzlaf recorded three assists. Fedor Tyutin had a goal and an assist for Columbus.

-Dwight King and Justin Williams each had a goal and an assist for the Kings who defeated the Stars, 4-2. Anze Kopitar recorded two assists for Los Angeles while teammate Jonathan Quick made 26 saves. Louis Eriksson led Dallas with a goal and an assist.

-Thea Imbrogno had a goal and an assist for the Robert Morris women's team which tied Niagara, 2-2.
