Penguins

Northeast Division

-Paul Gaustad had a goal and an assist for the Sabres who beat the rival Maple Leafs, 3-2. Patrick Kaleta recorded two assists for Buffalo while teammate Ryan Miller made 24 saves. Mikhail Grabovski led Toronto with a goal and an assist.

-Senators forward Jason Spezza accused Rangers forward and former Penguin Ruslan Fedotenko of hitting him with a "dirty" knee on knee hit Thursday.

Southeast Division

-Troy Brouwer's first career hat trick led the Blackhawks to a 4-3 win against the Lightning. Brooks Laich and Dennis Wideman each recorded two assists for Washington while teammate Tomas Vokoun made 28 saves. Captain Vincent Lecavalier had a goal and an assist for Tampa Bay.

-The Jets demoted forward Patrice Cormier to St. John's of the AHL.

Central Division

-A goal and an assist by Derrick Brassard led the Blue Jackets to a 4-3 win against the Coyotes. Curtis Sanford made 32 saves for Columbus. Lauri Korpikoski had a goal and two assists for Phoenix.

-Columbus' Jared Boll versus Phoenix's Raffi Torres:

-The Blue Jackets placed forward Jeff Carter on injured reserve due to a separated shoulder.

-Blackhawks forward Daniel Carcillo will miss the rest of the season following reconstructive surgery on the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Rehabilition is expected to take six months.

-Carcillo suffered the injury Jan. 2 when he shoved Oilers defenseman into the boards on an illegal hit which earned Carcillo a five-game suspension:

-The Blackhawks demoted forward Ben Smith to Chicago of the AHL.

Northwest Division

-“He’s got some charisma to him, he’s got some swagger to him — I like guys that are that way. It’s good to have that inside your room. It’s good that it’s not all the same. You want different personalities, you want guys that are different characters. It’s nice to have a little flavour of everything.” - Flames coach Brent Sutter on adding forward Mike Cammalleri to his roster.

-Two of the Sutter brothers - Calgary's Brent and Los Angeles' Darryl - will coach against each other tonight.

Pacific Division

-Jonas Hiller made 33 saves for the Ducks in a 5-0 shutout of the Oilers. Corey Perry scored two goals for Anaheim while captain Ryan Getzlaf recorded four assists.

-Edmonton's Sam Gagner and Anaheim's Francois Beauchemin:

-The Stars acquired former Penguins forward prospect Angelo Esposito from the Panthers in exchange for forward Ondrej Roman. In 16 games with the AHL's San Antonio Rampage this season, Esposito has five points. Esposito was the Penguins' first-round pick (No. 20 overall) in 2007.

-The Coyotes demoted defenseman David Rundblad to Portland of the AHL.

-The Ducks demoted defenseman Mark Fraser to Syracuse of the AHL.

Norris Division

-Cody Crichton's overtime goal gave the Robert Morris men's team a 4-3 win against Holy Cross.

-Max Strang made 15 saves for the Mercyhurst men's team in a 3-2 loss to American International.

-Jill Szandzik's overtime goal gave the Mercyhurst women's team a 5-4 win against Niagara.
