Penguins

-"Our expectation is not [just] to make the playoffs; it's bigger than that. I don't have to tell our players that." - Ray Shero (right).

-Marc-Andre Fleury pretty much has to be perfect right now.

-Happy 32nd birthday to former Penguins forward Mike Rupp. A free agent signing in the 2009 offseason, Rupp spent two seasons with the Penguins. During 2009-10, Rupp set career highs in games (81), goals (13) and points (19) and led the team with 120 penalty minutes. He saw action in 11 games during the 2010 posteason and failed to record a point. Last season, Rupp played in 81 games and scored 17 points. In seven postseason games he scored two points. Rupp, one of six former Penguins from Ohio - Ab DeMarco, Brian Holzinger, Moe Mantha, Ian Moran and Bryan Smolinski are the others - joined the Rangers this past offseason. In 162 regular season games, Rupp scored 36 points.  In 18 postseason games, he scored two points.

-"That's what we're trying to stop in the NHL - shots like that head shot. I had no time to react. I felt like the point of contact was my head. I didn't [see] the replay or anything, but from what I felt, it was a pretty dangerous hit. But we'll see what they say." - Talbot on the hit.

-Philadelphia police have arrested a man on charges related to an infamous fight following the Winter Classic. The fight, which was documented on YouTube, shows several Flyers fan attack and injuring a Rangers fan outside a steak sandwich shop.

Northeast Division

{youtube width="465" height="266"}heF3OY2Pnoo{/youtube}

-EN Says: Embarrassing. Subban deserves at least five games for that display.

-The Canadiens traded forward Mike Cammalleri, goaltender Karri Ramo and a fifth-round pick in 2012 to the Flames in exchange for forward Rene Bourque, forward prospect Patrick Holland and a second-round pick in 2013. Cammalleri, 29, who spent one season in Calgary, has 22 points (nine goals, 13 assists) in 38 games this season. He has three years left on a contract with a $6 million cap hit. Bourque, 30, has 16 points (13 goals, three assists) in 38 games. He has six years left on a contract with a $3,333,333 cap hit.

EN Says: It's no coincidence the club traded Cammalleri during a game a day after he called the "losers." The Canadiens have been a mess this season and have made a plenty of peculiar moves with coaching changes and other transactions. This trade is the latest.

We'll give the Flames the edge in terms who won the deal. Cammalleri had his best season in the NHL with the Flames in 2008-09 when he scored 39 goals. Both players have struggled this season, but Cammalleri is returning to an environment where he has succeeded.
