Penguins recall Sneep and Williams - 12-17-11
The NHL Penguins are looking more and more like the AHL Penguins.
The team recalled defenseman Carl Sneep (right) and forward Jason Williams from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL.
Sneep, 24, has never played in the NHL. A second round pick in 2006, Sneep has appeared in 27 AHL games this season and has recorded nine assists.
Williams, 31, has appeared in two NHL games this season and has no points. In 21 AHL games this season, he has 17 points (three goals, 14 assists).
The Penguins saw defenseman Paul Martin leave last night's game against the Senators at 2:44 of the third period due to an apparent leg injury. His status for tonight's game is not known.
To make room for Sneep and Williams, Roberto Bortuzzo and Sidney Crosby were placed on injured reserve.
