Penguins

-Welcome back Sidney Crosby.

-Scott Munroe made 20 saves for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 3-1 loss to the Worcester Sharks.

-Patrick Killeen made 11 saves for the Wheeling Nailers in a 3-2 loss to the Trenton Devils.

Atlantic Division

-Flyers forward Matt Read is making a case for the Calder Trophy.

Northeast Division

-Canadiens forward Scott Gomez has not scored in 40 consecutive regular season games.

Southeast Division

-A goal and an assist by Jeff Skinner led the Hurricanes to a 3-2 win against the Hurricanes. Captain Eric Staal recorded two assists for Carolina while Cam Ward made 23 saves in the victory. Phil Kessel scored both of Toronto's goals.

-Happy times for the Hurricanes. Not so much for Toronto's Ben Scrivens:

-The Capitals recalled defenseman Dmitry Orlov from Hershey of the AHL.

-After opening the season with seven consecutive victories, the Capitals have gone 3-7-1.

Central Division

-Two goals by Brad Stuart led the Red Wings to a 4-2 victory against the Ducks. Johan Franzen and Henrik Zetterberg each had a goal and an assist for Detroit while teammate Pavel Datsyuk recorded two assists. Jimmy Howard made 32 saves in the victory.

-With forward T.J. Oshie dealing with a wrist injury the Blues recalled former Penguins forward Brett Starling from Peoria of the AHL.

Northwest Division

-An overtime goal by Chris Higgins gave the Canucks a 2-1 win against the Senators. Corey Schneider made 28 saves in the victory.
