-Happy 36th birthday to former Penguins defenseman Patrick Boileau. A free agent signing in the 2003 offseason, Boileau appeared in 16 games for the 2003-04 Penguins and recorded seven points. In the 2004 offseason, he joined Lausanne of the NLA in Switzerland.
-Happy 37th birthday to former Penguins forward Mathias Johansson. Acquired along with Micki DuPont in a trade that sent Shean Donovan to the Flames at the 2003 trade deadline, Johansson appeared in 12 games and recorded six points for the 2002-03 Penguins. In the 2003 offseason, he joined Farjestad of the Elitserien in Sweden. He currently plays for Ritten/Renon in Italy.
Atlantic Division
-A hat trick by former Penguins prospect Matt Moulson led the Islanders to a 5-1 win against the Panthers. Fire Ray Shero. Teammate Travis Hamonic recorded two assists while Al Montoya made 20 saves in the victory.

Central Division
-A goal and an assist each by former Penguin Marian Hossa, Patrick Kane and captain Jonathan Toews led the Blackhawks to a 5-3 win at St. Louis. Teammates Ryan Johnson and Brent Seabrook each recorded two assists while Corey Crawford made 31 saves in the victory. Alex Pietrangelo netted a goal and an assist for the Blues.

-The Flames placed forward Niklas Hagman on waivers.

-Avalanche forward Matt Duchene (right) is expected to return to the line up after missing two games due to a hand injury.
-Oilers defenseman Sheldon Souray cleared waivers.
-The Avalanche recalled forward Cody Hodgson from Manitoba of the AHL and demoted defenseman Evan Oberg to Manitoba.
Pacific Division
