-Flyers defenseman Sean O'Donnell left the game after one shift due to a "lower-body" injury.

Northeast Division

-Senators defenseman Sergei Gonchar ("lower-body"), Chris Campoli ("lower-body") and forward Peter Regin (shoulder) are dinged up.

Southeast Division

-Marcus Johansson had a goal and an assist for the Capitals in a 2-1 win at Buffalo. Semyon Varlamov made 28 saves in the victory.

-Happy times for Johansson and captain Alex Ovechkin:

-The Thrashers demoted forward Nigel Dawes to Chicago of the AHL.

-The Panthers demoted defenseman Joe Callahan and forward Kenndal McArdle to Rochester of the AHL.

Central Division

-Shootout goals by Pavel Datsyuk and Todd Bertuzzi gave the Red Wings a 2-1 win at Minnesota. Jimmy Howard made 25 saves in the victory.

-Bertuzzi found a special way to celebrate his 1,000th career game.

-The Blackhawks activated forward Ryan Johnson ("upper body") from injured reserve.

Northwest Division

-Miikka Kiprusoff made 39 saves for the Flames in a 4-0 shutout of the Canadiens in the Heritage Classic. Rene Bourque had two goals for Calgary while teammate Alex Tanguay added a goal and an assist.
