-Brad Thiessen made 17 saves for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 1-0 loss to Adirondack Phantoms.

-Peter Delmas made 27 saves for the Wheeling Nailes in a 4-1 loss to the Toledo Walleye.

Atlantic Division

-Carey Price made 27 saves and led the Canadiens to a 3-0 shutout of the rival Maple Leafs. David Desharnais added a goal and an assist for Montreal while teammate Roman Hamrlik recorded two assists.

-Two goals and an assist by Alex Kovalev led the Senators to a 5-3 win against the Oilers. Fire Craig Patrick. Bobby Butler added a goal and an assist for Ottawa while teammates Nick Foligno and Jason Spezza each recorded two assists. Brian Elliott made 15 saves in the victory which snapped an 11-game losing streak. Dustin Penner scored two goals for Edmonton which has a five-game losing streak.

Southeast Division

-Marc-Andre Bergeron's overtime goal gave the Lightning a 4-3 win against the Hurricanes. Sean Bergenheim added a goal and an assist for Tampa Bay while Dwayne Roloson made 31 saves in the victory. Erik Cole and Eric Staal each netted a goal and an assist for Carolina.

-The Hurricanes scored two goals in the final minute to send this game to overtime:

-Carolina recalled forwards Zac Dalpe and Jerome Samson from Charlotteof the AHL and demoted forwards Zach Boychuk and Brett Sutter to Charlotte.

-With defenseman Dmitry Kulikov dealing with an ankle injury, the Panthers recalled defenseman Joe Callahan from Rochester of the AHL.

Central Division

-Martin Erat had a goal and two assists for the Predators in a 5-3 win against the Avalanche. Patric Hornqvist and David Legwand each added a goal and an assist for Nashville while Pekke Rinne made 15 saves in the victory. Kevin Porter netted a goal and an assist for Colorado which has lost seven consecutive games.

-Mike Fisher got an assist in his debut with the Predators.

-The Blackhawks recalled former Penguins forward Jeff Taffe from Rockford of the AHL and placed forward Ryan Johnson (undisclosed) on injured reserve.

Northwest Division

-Alex Burrows and former Penguin Mikael Samuelsson each scored two goals for the Canucks in a 4-2 win against the rival Flames. Manny Malhotra and Mason Raymond each added two assists for Vancouver while Roberto Luongo made 24 saves in the victory.

-Nicklas Backstrom made 24 saves for the Wild in a 3-1 defeat of the Blues. Minnesota has won nine out of its past 11 games

-Avalanche forward T.J. Galiardi will be sidelined six to eight weeks following surgery on his forearm.

Pacific Division

-Michal Handzus and Anze Kopitar each had a goal and an assist for the Kings in a 4-1 win at Washington. Wayne Simmonds recorded two assists for Los Angeles while Jonathan Bernier made 22 saves in the victory.

-Radim Vrbata's shootout goal gave the Coyotes a 4-3 win against the Blackhawks. Ilya Bryzgalov made 31 saves in the victory. Dave Bolland recorded two assists for Chicago.

-Coyotes coach and former Penguins forward Dave Tippett earned his 350th career win.

-The Stars signed former Red Wings/Blackhawks/Thrashers/Blue Jackets forward Jason Williams to a one-year, two-way contract, placed forward Krys Barch (face) on injured reserve and demoted Francis Wathier to Texas of the AHL.
