TSN now saying no suspension for Staal - 02-02-11

After reporting earlier that Jordan Staal's automatic one-game suspension would be upheld, TSN has removed that story and is now reporting that Staal's will not be suspended.

Staal was given a match penalty at 15:27 of the second period last night after he punched Rangers forward Brandon Prust with a gloved hand during last night's game at Madison Square Garden in New York.

The penalty comes with an automatic one-game suspension pending a review with the league.

Staal and the Penguins host the Islanders tonight at 7 p.m.
