Penguins recall Tangradi, Malkin on IR - 02-02-11
With several players injured and one temporarily suspended, the Penguins recalled forward Eric Tangradi (right) from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL.
This will be Tangradi's second stint in the NHL this season. He began the campaign with the NHL club and recorded two points (one goal, one assist) in nine games.
In 42 AHL games this season, Tangradi has recorded 32 points (18 goals, 14 assists).
His recall was prompted by the ailments of forward Sidney Crosby (concussion), Evgeni Malkin (knee/sinus infection), Mark Letestu (knee) and Arron Asham (undisclosed) and the potential one-game suspension of Jordan Staal.
In other news, it appears Malkin has been placed on injured reserve according to the roster on the team's Web site.
