-"I was a Penguins fan when I was younger. Not anymore." - Bruins defenseman and Mt. Lebanon native Matt Bartkowski who made his NHL debut last night.
-Eric Godard (nose) was officially placed on injured reserve to make froom for Dustin Jeffrey (PG+).
-Jeffrey and Brad Thiessen were chosen for the AHL all-star game (PG+).
-Happy 65th birthday to former Penguins forward Mike Corrigan. Acquired early in the 1976-77 season in a deal which sent a draft pick to the Kings, Corrigan spent parts of two seasons with the Penguins. He finished 1976-77 by appearing in 73 games and scoring 41 points. The 1977 postseason saw him appear in two games and fail to record a point. In 1977-78, a leg injury limited him to 25 games and 20 points and brought his career to an end. Corrigan returned to Pittsburgh as an assistant coach in 1981 and served under head coaches Eddie Johnston and Lou Angotti until 1984. In 98 regular season games with the Penguins, he scored 61 points.
Happy 55th birthday to former Penguins forward Warren Young. A free agent signing in the 1983 offseason, Young spent parts of two seasons with the Penguins. In 1983-84, he appeared in 15 games and recorded eight points. The following season in 1984-85, Young was teamed on a line with Mario Lemieux and scored an astounding 40 goals and 72 points in 80 games. In the 1985 offseason, Young joined the Red Wings as a free agent. In 95 games with the Penguins, Young scored 80 points.

Atlantic Division
-The Rangers traded former Penguins defenseman Michal Rozsival to the Coyotes in exchange for forward Wojtek Wolski.
-Islanders defenseman and former Penguin Mark Eaton will miss the rest of the season due to a hip injury.
-The Islanders recalled defenseman Rhett Rakhshani from Bridgeport of the AHL.
-At minus-29, Devils forward Ilya Kovalchuk has a chance at breaking the franchise record of minus-35 set in 1982-83.
Northeast Division
-James Reimer made 30 saves for the Maple Leafs in a 3-2 win at Los Angeles. It was the Maple Leafs' fourth consecutive road win. The Kings have lost six out of their past seven games.

-A knee injury will sideline Senators forward and former Penguin Alex Kovalev approximately a week.

Southeast Division
-The Capitals recalled forward Brian Willsie from Hershey of the AHL.
-The Hurricanes demoted forward Jon Matsumoto to Charlotte of the AHL.
Central Division
-With goaltender Chris Osgood expected to miss six to eight weeks due to a groin injury, the Red Wings recalled goaltender Joey MacDonald from Grand Rapids of the AHL.
-Detroit demoted forward Tomas Tatar to Grand Rapids of the AHL.
-The Blue Jackets recalled goaltender David LeNeveu from Springfield of the AHL.
-The Blues recalled forwards Philip McRae and Ryan Reaves from Peoria of the AHL and demoted forward T.J. Hensick.
Northwest Division
-Matt Duchene had two goals and an assist for the Avalanche in a 5-4 defeat of the Red Wings. David Jones added a goal and two assists for Colorado while teammate Kevin Porter collected a goal and an assist. Peter Budaj made 26 saves in the victory. Tomas Holmstrom and Henrik Zetterberg each had a goal and an assist for Detroit.

Pacific Division
-Lauri Korpikoski, Taylor Pyatt and Kyle Turris each had a goal and an assist for the Coyotes in 4-3 win at St. Louis. Jason LaBarbera made 33 saves in the victory. Matt D'Agostini netted a goal and an assist for the Blues.
