The Penguins demoted forward Dustin Jeffrey (right) to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL. Jeffrey, who was recalled Friday, has appeared in three games this season and has recorded two points (one goal, on assist). Both of his points came in a 5-2 win at Buffalo, Saturday.
Jeffrey, 22, has appeared in 25 AHL games this season and leads Wilkes-Barre/Scranton with 30 points.
EN Says: Jeffrey played okay in his latest cup of coffee in the NHL. But he hardly distinguished himself while laboring on the fourth line.
That said, the fact that the team doesn't have a game until Monday probably played a role in this move. Jeffrey is still on a two-way contract and for every day he's in the AHL, they save money against their salary cap.
