Catching up with Ryan Whitney - 11-28-10

Former Penguins defenseman Ryan Whitney appears to have everything right finally.

Something of a disappointment late in his tenure with the Penguins and during his entire stay in Anaheim, Whitney has found a home in Edmonton. And while he's hardly headlining the 1980s Oilers, Whitney is the team's leading scorer with 18 points this season (all assists) and also leads the team with 25:57 of ice time.

He was a guest last night on Hockey Night in Canada's After Hours segment. He discussed his time in Pittsburgh quite a bit, compared the Oilers' current rebuilding project to the Penguins' rebuilding project five years ago, his recovery from two foot surgeries and how Jordan Staal once gave him a bloody nose:
