The Eric Tangradi (right) era in Wheeling is over.
The Penguins recalled the forward from the Wheeling Nailers less than a day after demoting him to their ECHL affiliate. To make room for him, the Penguins placed Arron Asham ("upper body") on injured reserve.
Goaltender Patrick Killeen, who was recalled from Wheeling, will remain on the roster.
According to Penguins coach Dan Bylsma, the bizarre transaction was made because Asham's heath was a question mark going into today and the team wanted to have Killeen around in order to give him more time with the team's goaltending coach, Gilles Meloche.
In other news, Kris Letang will be a game-time decision due to an illness. He skipped this morning's practice. If he can not play, Deryk Engelland will take his place in the lineup.
The Penguins' lines and defensive pairings this morning (PG+):
Chris Kunitz - Sidney Crosby - Pascal Dupuis

Matt Cooke - Mark Letestu - Tyler Kennedy
Mike Rupp Rupp CraigAdams/Maxime Talbot - Eric Godard

All of that news might take a back seat to little stunning item from the Flyers however. Flyers rookie goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky, 22, will make his NHL debut tonight. Veteran Brian Boucher was expected to get the start.
Bobrovsky was had a 3-0-1 record in the preseason along with a 1.76 goals-against average and .939 save percentage.
Additionally, Flyers defenseman Chris Pronger (knee) will be a game-time decision. Flyers defenseman Chris Pronger (knee) is not expected to play tonight. He will be replaced by Oskars Bartulis.
