Penguins cut 11 - 09-29-10

Written by Seth Rorabaugh on .

The penguins demoted 11 players to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL today. Those assigned areĀ  Chris Conner, Nick Johnson (right), Brett Sterling, Joe Vitale, Tim Wallace, defensemen Robert Bortuzzo, Corey Potter, Brian Strait and Steve Wagner, goaltenders Brad Thiessen and John Curry.

Conner, Curry, Potter, Sterling, Wagner and Wallace must go through waivers before reporting to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

EN Says: The only surprise to us is Potter. He was having a pretty solid camp and since very few of the other potential candidates for those No. 6 and 7 defensemen spots were standing out, Potter seemed like he had a legit chance to make the NHL roster.
