Penguins unveil commemorative patch - 09-14-10
The Penguins will wear a commemorative patch this season in tribute to Consol Energy Center.
Based on this photo of Evgeni Malkin from the team's Twitter page, the players will be wearing the patch on their right shoulder, much the same way they wore the Pittsburgh 250 patch in 2007-08.
EN Says: It's a little bland if you ask us. It's just a silhouette of the new building's most notable exterior feature, the glass wall on west side. Can't the put some wording about Consol Energy Center in there?
And not to back track, it's a shame the team opted not to wear anything for its final season at Mellon/Civic Arena. Over 40 years of history lost out to corporate interests.
