-Happy 35th birthday to former Penguins forward Jarkko Ruutu (above). A free agent signing in the 2006 offseason, Ruutu spent two seasons with the Penguins. In 2006-07, Ruutu appeared in 81 games and scored 17 games and led the team with 125 penalty minutes. He played in five postseason games that spring and failed to score a points. The 2007-08 season saw Ruutu play in 71 games and once again score 16 points while recording 131 penalty minutes. Ruutu would appear in all 20 of the team's postseason games that season and record three points. In the 2008 offseason, Ruutu joined the Senators as a free agent. In 152 regular season games with the Penguins, Ruutu scored 32 points. In 25 posteason games, he scored three points. His success rate of 50 percent (4 for 8) is the third-best total in franchise history. Ruutu is also the last Penguin to successfully convert a penalty shot. He scored against the Maple Leafs' Andrew Raycroft Jan. 20, 2007:
