Penguins
-Tickets for a tour of Consol Energy Center Aug. 28 go on sale today.
-The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins were granted permission to play a game New Year's Day at Consol Energy Center.

-The Wheeling Nailers hired John Wroblewski as an assistant coach.
-Happy 57th birthday to former Penguins defenseman Greg Fox (right). Acquired midway through the 1983-84 season in a deal which sent Randy Boyd to the Blackhawks, Fox spent parts of two seasons in Pittsburgh. He finished 1983-84 by appearing in 49 games and scoring seven points for the Penguins. The 1984-85 campaign saw him play in 26 games and score seven points. He retired following the season. In 75 games with the Penguins, he scored 14 points.
Atlantic Division
-Flyers defenseman Chris Pronger (right) said his wonky knee could force him to miss the season opener Oct. 7 at Consol Energy Center.
Northeast Division
-The Maple Leafs signed forward Jerry D’Amigo, a sixth-round pick in 2009, to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Southeast Division
-The NHL has "no issue" with Vincent Lecavalier's 11-year $85 million contract.
-The Lightning re-signed forward Juraj Simek to a one-year, two-way contract.
-Former Wheeling Nailers defenseman Elgin Reid signed with the Charlotte Checkers, the Hurricanes' AHL affiliate.
-Perhaps the Capitals have arrived. Someone accidentally engraved their name onto the Princes of Wales Trophy as this past season's Eastern Conference champions:

Central Division
-The Blackhawks re-signed restricted free agent defenseman Jordan Hendry to a one-year deal. Financial terms were not released.
-The Blues signed unrestricted free agent defenseman Dean Arsene, formely of the Oilers, to a one-year two-way contract.
-The Predators renewed an affiliation agreement with the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL.
Northwest Division
-The Flames re-signed unrestricted free agent forward Craig Conroy (right) to a one-year, two-way contract.
Pacific Division
-Ducks forward Teemu Selanne has a shot at passing up former Penguins captains Jaromir Jagr and Mario Lemieux on a few career scoring lists.
Adams Division
-"On the Fly" on NHL Network will be available in HD next season.
-Former Rangers goaltender Matt Zaba joined HC Bolzano in Italy.
-Today would've been the 108th birthday of Fred Lowrey, a former forward with the NHL's Pittsburgh Pirates.
