Flyers re-sign Coburn - 07-01-10
There's one Atlantic Division team hanging on to its defensemen. The Flyers have re-signed restricted free agent defenseman Braydon Coburn to a two-year deal with an annual cap hit of $3.2 million.
In 81 games, Coburn had 19 points (five goals, 14 assists) and was a minus-6.
EN Says: The Flyers have collected quite a stable of defensemen. Coburn could be a No. 2 defensemen with quite a few team. In Philadelphia, he's a No. 3 at best.
Coburn offers a pretty well rounded game. Despite his size (6-foot-5, 220 pounds) he's a pretty good skater. Coburn is strong in either of the ice and and he has the potential produced 35-plus points per season.
$3.2 million is more than reasonable for his services.
