Flames bring back Tanguay - 07-01-10

For anyone holding out hope the Penguins would sign a one-time 20-goal threat on the wing, one if off the market. Former Lightning forward Alex Tanguay has re-signed with the Flames for one year at $1.7 million.
Last season in 80 games, Tanguay had 37 points (10 goals, 27 assists) and was a minus-2.
EN Says: At 30, Tanguay has faded badly pretty much ever season since the lockout. In 2005-06, he had career-high 29 goals. Every season since then, his goal totals have declined.
Perhaps a change (so to speak) in scenery will help Tanguay, but he's played in three different locations (Calgary, Montreal, Tampa Bay) the past three seasons and he's still suffered a decline.
And for a team which had a lot of scoring issues up front, this deal doesn't make a lot of sense for the Flames.
