Penguins forward Tyler Kennedy (above) will skip tonight's game against the Canadiens due to an undisclosed injury. Dan Bylsma described his injury as day to day. He will be replaced in the lineup by Chris Bourque.
He has six points (five goals, one assist) in 11 games this season. Kennedy leads the NHL this season with three game-winning goals.
Pascal Dupuis, who had been dealing with an illness, is expected to be in the lineup tonight.
EN Says: Kennedy's a tough guy to lose, especially since he's developed quite a bit this season as a goal-scorer. But we would hardly call Kennedy's absence vital.
-The Canadiens will start Jaroslav Halak in net tonight. It will be his fifth consecutive start. He is 4-1-0 this season with a 2.28 goals against average and .910 save percentage. He has played in two career games against the Penguins and has a 0-1-0 record with a 3.57 goals against average and .871 save percentage.
-Habs forward Scott Gomez did not skate this morning and was confined to the team hotel with flu-like symptoms. He is expected to be a game-time decision.
