EN reader Tom Ingoldsby wrote us a rather pleasant e-mail last night that included several photos of the Penguins warming up. Enjoy:

-And as if that wasn't enough, L.J. Sparvero spotted this Dan Marino Dolphins jersey last night:

EMPTY NETTER ASSISTS

Penguins

-Dave Molinari's recap from last night.

-John Curry hates snow.

-What exactly are the Penguins' plans with Philippe Boucher?

-Being bad helped the Penguins be good.

-Apparently Matt Cooke has a rivalry with Wild defenseman Nick Schultz stemming from Cooke's days with Vancouver.

-Sidney Crosby cares not for curved blades.

-With John Curry hanging out with the NHL club, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins recalled goaltender David Brown from Wheeling.

Atlantic Division

-The Flyers and Mike Richards (above) unveiled their "new" old third puppy-drowning jerseys. There aren't a lot of things to like about the Flyers. This is one of them.

-Did Philadelphia general manager Paul Holmgren pull a fast one when he acquired defenseman Matt Carle?

-Flyers defenseman Luca Sbisa is living with team goon Riley Cote.

-Forward Tim Jackman has given the Islanders a boost in his limited time on the ice.

-Islanders defenseman Brendan Witt is about to come off injured reserve. Forward Kyle Okposo is dealing with an arm injury.

-Rangers forwards Brandon Dubinsky, Aaron Voros and Nikolai Zherdev are on a line called the PlayStation line.

Northeast Division

-Senators forward Chris Neil and Mike Fisher (right) are dealing with knee injuries.

-Ottawa forward and former Penguin Jarkko Ruutu isn't very popular.

-The Sabres need forward Derek Roy to start playing better.

-Toronto's Vesa Toskala hasn't played like a No. 1 goaltender this season.

Southeast Division

-Cam Ward made 28 saves for the Hurricanes who edged the Canadiens, 2-1.

-Carolina forward Sergei Samsonov got some revenge against his former team, the Habs.

-Nathan Horton's shootout goal gave the Panthers a 4-3 win at Tampa Bay.

-The Lightning set a franchise record by getting 52 shots on goal last night.

-Tampa Bay forward Steven Stamkos is finally feeling like a part of his team.

-Former Lightning coach Barry Melrose is still yapping about his firing.

-Is former Penguins coach Rick Tocchet (right) the right man to replace Melrose?

-Should Ilya Kovalchuk be the Thrashers' captain?

Central Division

-Shootout goals by Patrick Sharp and Jonathan Toews gave the Blackhawks a 3-2 win at Phoenix.

-The Red Wings put forward Darren McCarty on waivers.

-Goaltender Ty Conklin has been a good addition for the Red Wings. Fire Ray Shero.

-The Red Wings' AHL affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins, want to get their fans full of sodium nitrite and alcohol.

-The Blues claimed forward B.J. Crombeen off waivers from the Stars.

-The Blue Jackets were just plain ugly last night.

-Columbus put defenseman Rostislav Klesla on injured reserve.

-Predators forward Jordin Tootoo needs to remain physical in order to make his mark.

-A night after leaving the ice due to a neck injury, Predators forward Jason Arnott returned to practice.

Northwest Division

-Shawn Horcoff had a goal and two assists for the Oilers in a 7-2 win at Columbus.

-Check out the nifty passing that set up Horcoff's goal:

-Adrian Aucoin had a goal and an assists for the Flames who beat the Avalanche, 4-1.

-Avalanche defenseman Daniel Tjarnqvist needs to stay prepared as the team's seventh defenseman.

-Flames forward Matthew Lombardi isn't rooting for the Calgary Stampeders in the Grey Cup.

-Wild goaltender Niklas Backstrom did a nice job shutting the Penguins down last night.

-Canucks defenseman Alexander Edler is dealing with a throat infection.

Pacific Division

-Dallas recalled forward James Neal from Manitoba of the AHL.

-The Stars unveiled their new third jerseys. They're apparently from Dallas:

-Stars captain Brenden Morrow has to keep his aggression in check.

-In order to save some salary cap space, the Ducks "assigned" forward Bobby Ryan and defenseman Brett Festerling to their ECHL affiliate in Bakersfield.

-We love these new injury "reports." Coyotes forward Daniel Winnik has a bruised mid-section.

Patrick Division

-Former Devils forward Claude Lemieux signed with the Sharks. In China.

-The Burgh Blog. We hardly knew you.
