Penguins recall Lovejoy - 12-07-09
The Penguins recalled defenseman Ben Lovejoy from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
Lovejoy was recalled after defenseman Hal Gill suffered a shoulder injury in yesterday's 3-2 loss in Ottawa. Gill's injury is not believed to be serious.
Lovejoy has 14 points (4 goals, 10 assists) in 24 games with the AHL Penguins this season. He's been a fairly complete all-around player at the AHL level. He's righthanded and he can shoot the puck a bit:
Not that this has anything to do with anything on the ice, but Lovejoy has a pretty interesting blog "creatively" called "Hockey Guy." It hasn't been updated since Nov. 11 however. Perhaps his recent call up will spur a new round of posts.
