About the Maple Leafs - 12-20-08

Written by Seth Rorabaugh on .

A preview of the Maple Leafs.

Record: 12-13-6

Leading Scorer: Matt Stajan, 24 points (7 goals, 17 assists).

Last Game: 8-5 loss in Boston Thursday. Nik Antropov, Pavel Kubina and Alexei Ponikarovsky each had a goal and an assist for Toronto.

Last Game against the Penguins: 4-1 road loss Oct. 18. Sidney Crosby recorded his 100th career goal, 200th career assist and 300th career point.

Maple Leafs Player We Would Bet Money On Scoring: Niklas Hagman. We just feel right about Hagman. No idea why. We have nothing tangible to back up this prediction. We just expect to see his name on the score sheet tonight.

Ex-Penguins on the Maple Leafs: Dominic Moore, C; Dennis Bonvie, pro scout.

Ex-Maple Leafs on the Penguins: Hal Gill, D; Tom Fitzgerarld, director of player development.

Useless Maple Leafs Trivia: Seven one-time Penguins goaltenders have worn No. 30 for the Maple Leafs. They are Jean-Sebastien Aubin, Tom Barrasso (right, above), Paul Harrison, Al Smith, Vincent Tremblay, Dunc Wilson and Ken Wregget.

Best Maple Leafs YouTube Video We Could Find: There aren't many reasons to like the Maple Leafs. But anytime somone like Wendel Clark blasts Chris Chelios, we're all big Toronto fans:
