Czech Republic vs. Latvia - 02-23-10

-This was a very surprising game. Jaromir Jagr didn't return after an early injury in the second period. As a result, the Czechs were flat and got a scare from Latvia. The Czech finally were able to solve goaltender Edgards Malsaskis in overtime to pull out a 3-2 win.
-There was no word of Jaromir Jagr's (above) status. If he can't go tomorrow, the Czechs are toast against FInland.
-Edgars Malsaskis was the star of this game. He was the reason the Latvians even had a chance.
-Martin Havlat stepped it up a bit with Jagr out. He'll have to do even more if Jagr can't play.
-David Krejci, who scored the winning goal in overtime, also played well.
-Did anyone see Patrik Elias?
-The Czech's need to get their power play in order.
The Czech ended up with a 50-26 lead in shots.
-Krejci led the game with seven shots.
-Martins Cipulis and Lauris Darzins led the Latvian with three shots.
-Georgijs Pujac led the game with 26:12.
-Tomas Plekanec led the Czechs with 22:42.
-Jagr ended up with 6:03 of ice time and no shots.
